Access to health care

Day 3 - Polygons

When it comes to accessing health services in much of the world **location** is everything. This map shows the locations in Mozambique which are accessible within 60 minutes of a health facility (a general proxy for health access). Using this you begin to see the areas where health access coverage is high and more importantly identify the areas where many communities are missed. To create this map we partnered with Mapbox and used their [Isochrone API](https://docs.mapbox.com/playground/isochrone/) that automatically takes in to account road, topology and natural barriers (eg. rivers) from sources like OpenStreetMap. Population data on the map comes from [GRID3](https://grid3.org/) which uses high resolution satellite imagery, census data and machine learning to produce high resolution gridded population maps.
